"Paralympic day at school" in Kalamitsa, Kavala

On Friday, December 4, 2015, the 1st Special Primary School of Kavala and the 6th High School of Kavala, with the support of the Association "PERPATO" co-organized the action of the "Paralympic day at school", at the indoor gym of Kalamitsa Kavala, "Alexandra Dimoglou". Participants in this 'Paralympic day' were the students of the two schools.

The action included 7 Paralympic sports demonstration stations and a station with the president of the Association and silver Paralympian, Mr. Alexandros Taxildaris, talking to the students about the Paralympic Movement and answering their questions. The Stations of Paralympic sports were:

* wheelchair basketball,
·boccia,
* wheelchair fencing,
* sitting volleyball,
·badminton,
* athletics for people with vision impairment
* use of a wheelchair.

At the beginning of the event, students of the schools read to the public poems written by themselves on the occasion of the previous International Day of Persons with disabilities.

Over 80 children from various classes of elementary and high school passed through all stations in groups. The students played, had fun and learned important information about the Paralympic Movement and Paralympic sports.

With their presence, the athletes Anthi Karagianni (5 medals in Paralympic Games) and Alexandra Dimoglou (4 medals in Paralympic Games) honored the action.
