The European Youth Parliament Greece (E.Y.P. Greece) organized the 1st University Forum, which took place online on November 16 and in person on November 23–24, 2024, in Peristeri.

The Forum’s theme, “Youth for the Future: Building Inclusive Societies,” focused on empowering the younger generation to create a fairer and more equitable society without exclusions. Through interactive discussions, workshops, and group activities, participants explored issues of social inclusion, equality, and active citizenship, exchanging ideas and proposals for a better future.

The Forum brought together around 100 young people from across Greece, who, in collaboration with experts and professionals, fostered dialogue on building inclusive societies. Participants worked in 10 committees and, through discussion and idea-sharing, co-created a Policy Paper based on five key pillars:

  • Accessibility in Urban Spaces & Disability and Artificial Intelligence

  • Medicalization and Access to Mental Health Services

  • Creating a Legal Framework for Protection and Addressing Gender-Based Violence

  • Rights of Roma Women and Completion of Formal Education

  • Safety and Accessibility in Public Transportation

The Forum’s objectives were to:

  • Promote social and political participation among youth

  • Strengthen awareness of human rights and the values of inclusion

  • Build a network of young leaders with a vision for the future

The event was held under the auspices of the Region of Attica and the Hellenic Youth Council, with accessibility consulting provided by the NGO “With Other Eyes” (Με Άλλα Μάτια).
